Tõutsi Fly-in 2022: Skies Full of Friends and the Roar of Engines

The summer of 2022 brought together the cream of the crop of Estonian aviation enthusiasts at Tõutsi airfield. This wasn’t just another flight day; it was a warm invitation from Tõutsi Aeroclub to its friends and like-minded spirits—to visit, share experiences, and enjoy the beauty of South Estonia’s rolling hills from above.

More Than Just Airplanes
What made the 2022 event stand out was the incredible diversity of machinery. While airfields are usually dominated by fixed-wing aircraft, this time the Tõutsi grass strip was filled with numerous helicopters as well. It created a rare and spectacular sight, where light aircraft, long-distance "cross-country" travelers, and vertical-lift enthusiasts rested side by side.

Friends flew in from all over Estonia, momentarily turning the quiet village of Tõutsi into the focal point of the country’s aviation scene. In the air, discipline and precision prevailed; on the ground, the atmosphere was one of immediate and joyful reunion.

Community and Aviation Culture
The goal of the Fly-in was clear from the start: to strengthen the bonds between pilots and celebrate the freedom of flight. After successful landings, everyone gathered in and around the hangar to swap stories from the past flight season, discuss technical details, and plan future group expeditions.

Naturally, the event included its educational highlight—the Tõutsi Academy, where tales of aviation’s heroic past gave the day a deeper meaning. This gathering reaffirmed once again that Tõutsi is not just a runway, but a place where aviation lives and breathes through the people who love it.

Thank You to All Participants!
Tõutsi Aeroclub thanks all the friends who flew in with their machines in 2022 and made this day truly special. It is moments like these that build lasting traditions.
